Read moreOur development team has outdone themselves with the new EPOS major release 24.9. The result? Significant new features and improvements that elevate SAP Basis automation for all users. Here are the highlights.
The latest advancements in EPOS 24.9 focus on optimizing SAP Basis automation through:
Let’s begin with the EPOS Framework itself. With version 24.9, we’ve introduced significant productivity, flexibility, and efficiency enhancements—improving the user experience across all 12 EPOS apps.
From starting and stopping SAP systems (for DB updates, SAP kernel upgrades, and more) to removing, adding, renaming or inventorying SAP systems in EPOS, 24.9 simplifies these processes significantly.
Central to this is the new Destination Repository, which consolidates SAP systems in EPOS for centralized management, and the Admin Engine, designed for quick, ad-hoc task execution directly via the UI.
The Admin Engine eliminates the need to log in to the operating system and manually execute commands, streamlining processes for users. A few clicks allow for ad-hoc tasks to be performed, such as stopping and starting of systems or the setting of System Messages (SM02)
The new features and improvements in BlueCopy make automated system copies easier than ever.
With EPOS 24.9, SAP task lists are now directly displayed, accessible, and executable from the WebUI. This simplifies execution significantly, as multiple commands within task lists can now be managed seamlessly without the need for complex configurations.
BlueCopy now also includes Advanced Tasks, which allow users to display, review, and adjust SAP parameters directly in BlueCopy during post-copy processing - without the need to switch to an SAP system, even when working across multiple clients.
Additionally, BlueCopy now supports:
The BlueClone app, a related tool used for building SAP sandboxes, is now also fully WebUI-integrated. Users can also manage SAP licenses directly from the interface, simplifying job creation even further.
Version 24.9 introduces a range of enhancements to EPOS Automation. One new feature is the automated deletion of older SAP kernels during SAP kernel updates, eliminating manual clean-up tasks.
There also also news concerning SAP HANA updates: EPOS 24.9 supports HANA replication with the option for Near Zero Downtime, significantly minimizing system downtime during updates.
Another new feature is the Parameter Check functionality after completing an SAP HANA update. EPOS users can now choose to either adjust the parameters directly in the database or simply verify them.
Further updates include support for:
Last but not least, EPOS 24.9 includes major improvements to reporting and data collection;
Our development team is already hard at work on the next EPOS version, set to release in the first half of 2025!
