With the latest EPOS release 25.6, EPOS now provides SAP Basis and infrastructure teams with 24 specialized apps - more than ever before. This expansion is a direct result of our close collaboration with the experts who ensure the stability and performance of SAP systems every day.

Our goal is to consistently advance the vision of a Central Point of Management and significantly drive SAP Basis automation. Our guiding principle is clear: automate everything that can be automated.

EPOS enables Basis teams to control complex and time-consuming routine tasks from a single central platform - whether it’s the automated creation of SAP system copies with BlueCopy, managing SAP kernel or SAP HANA updates with the respective Apps, or ensuring compliance through automated SAP certificate management.

The 24 EPOS Apps in detail: Your toolbox for maximum SAP Basis automation

Each EPOS app is designed to address specific tasks in everyday SAP Basis operations and the platform follows a modular approach. This creates a flexible toolbox that allows customers to build their own EPOS dashboard step by step, tailored precisely to their individual requirements.

To give you a clear overview of the wide range of use cases supported by the EPOS Suite and its 24 EPOS apps, the following summary is structured by functional areas:

System Copies and Client Copies

1. BlueCopy (SAP System Copies)

Automated and efficient creation of SAP system copies, including all required pre- and post-processing steps.

2. BlueClone (SAP Sandbox Systems)

Rapid provisioning of “clean” SAP systems for sandbox environments, built from scratch.

3. BlueClient (SAP Client Copies)

Simplified and automated creation of client copies at the push of a button.

System Maintenance and Operations

4. System Maintenance App

Automated start, stop, and restart of SAP systems (SAP and database), standalone systems (DB-only, SAP-only), and individual components such as SAP, database, and operating system (OS).

5. SAP Host Agent App

Installation and update of the SAP Host Agent on any system.

6. SAP Diagnostic Agent App

Automated installation of the SAP Diagnostic Agent for system monitoring.

Update and Patch Management (SAP Components)

7. SAP Kernel Update App

Upgrade, update, or downgrade of the SAP kernel to a new version, including post-processing steps (sapcpe, saproot.sh) and optional SGEN execution after the update. Also supports SAP-only systems such as the Web Dispatcher.

8. SAP ABAP Update App

Update and installation of SPAM/SAINT, ST-PI, and ST-A/PI.

9. SAP Java Update App

Update of Software Component Archives (SCAs) for Java components in SAP environments.

Update and Parameter Management (Databases)

10. HANA DB Update App

Upgrade, update, or patch of the SAP HANA database. Supports Near Zero Downtime for HANA replication and offers optional parameter adjustments after the update or upgrade.

11. HANA Parameter App

Set or modify SAP HANA parameters.

12. Db2 Update App

Upgrade, update, or patch of the Db2 database, including parameter adjustments after the update.

13. Db2 Parameter App

Set or modify Db2 parameters.

14. Oracle DB Update App

Update of Oracle 19c databases to a higher SAP Bundle Patch level.
