BlueCopy 9.3.7 released - Feature Round-Up

9.3.7 will be our last fix release before 9.4 and 10.0. In this release, there are many, many fixes for things you have reported to us, mostly in connection with new behaviour/features of the underlying RDBMS. All these things will of course be included in the following major releases. In the following, you will find an outline over all 9.3.x fix releases, this time a little bit lengthly.


BlueCopy Server in general:

  • NEW: A lot of improvements in BlueClone, esp. for SAP Hana 2.0
  • NEW: space check for SAP application files in BlueClone
  • NEW: Existing target database can be reused in BlueClone
  • NEW: OS-UserExit on 3rd party server
  • NEW: Support for SAP Router strings for RFC communication to SAP systems
  • MCOD check can be deactivated completelyli>
  • FIXED: improved keepalive for SSH sessions
  • FIXED: redolog copier is more stable now (Online Copy disk-to-disk and Flashcopy)
  • BlueCopy Webservice can now listen on a specific IP address (binding)
  • HTTPS support for BlueCopy Webservice on AIX 7.2
  • FIXED: CredSSP is now also enabled for internal PowerShell channel
  • FIXED: while restoring a backed up client, the necessary SCC4 entry was not created

Hana specific:

  • Support for SAP Hana MCD (Multi-Container Database) scale-out installations
  • FIXED: SAP Hana database status check now ignores non-relevant tenant databases

SAP ASE specific:

  • NEW: Support for SAP ASE with enabled SoD (Separation of Duties)
  • FIXED: device renaming script for ASE
  • FIXED: Default database of schema user was not adapted on SAP ASE

Oracle specific:

  • FIXED: Check of controlfile creation with uniform timestamps in Oracle alert.log
  • FIXED: Restore of Oracle user passwords with new hash format (since Oracle 12.2)

DB2 specific:

  • FIXED: restore of DB2 was detected as unsuccessful if target database was upgraded after the restore

MS SQL Server specific:

  • NEW: provided MSS backup file (expert switch "restorefromfile") is now checked during check run

    Today, we released Version 2.3 of BlueUserCopy. This version is now NW 7.31-based and finally allows for setting productive passwords, again, instead of initial passwords which have to be changed immediately at first login. This tool covers the use-case, when you need to have SAP users from or in different systems while preserving existing users.
